Residence Botkyrka’s programme: Developing Nordic Cities is open to artists, curators, architects, art educators and critics based in the Nordic and Baltic countries (Swedish / Sweden based applicants can unfortunately not apply).
Residence Botkyrka is Botkyrka konsthall’s international residency programme active within the interdisciplinary field of art, architecture and social practices. The programme encourages new forms of artistic research and art practices that engages in a local context, and supports projects that requires longer stays. The research and knowledge produced by the artists in residence is also influencing the programme at Botkyrka konsthall.
Grant holders receive a stipend of 11000 SEK/month and are offered living and working space in an apartment as well as support for travel expenses. There is also a small production budget, and artists are supported with networks and curatorial assistance during their stay.
Each artist is committed for a 1-3 month stay (sometimes it is possible to divide the stay into two periods). Programme period: May 2019 – May 2020.
The selected artists are required to contribute to the programme at Botkyrka konsthall (artist talk, presentation, workshop, screening, lecture or something else).
Please email an artistic portfolio or other presentation together with a letter describing the interests, project or research that could be developed within the programme of Residence Botkyrka. Please also state the ideal time period for the residency. Email address: email@example.com
The applications are reviewed by Botkyrka konsthall’s team together with a reference group.
Residence Botkyrka is run by Botkyrka konsthall and is a collaboration between the Department of Culture and Leisure, the Department of Urban Planning, the housing company Botkyrkabyggen, and the Multicultural Centre, a municipal foundation that is engaged in research, education and cultural events. This cooperation enables different people, such as urban planners and researchers, to contribute with knowledge and networks to the visiting grant holders.
Residence Botkyrka: Developing Nordic Cities is supported by Nordic Culture Point.
