YAPP in Botkyrka – Young Artist Production Program – is a collaboration between Botkyrka konsthall, the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm, the secondary schools of Botkyrka and a number of preparatory art schools.
Secondary school students from Botkyrka meet with students from the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm to work with established artists, designers, curator, institutions, educators and teachers. The length of the course varies from a month to a year. Based in Botkyrka konsthall the course sometimes moves to other places, both nationally and internationally.
YAPP in Botkyrka offer a course to art students who want to connect their practice to new audiences and are interested in cross-disciplinary productions. By hosting them in a professional context, YAPP in Botkyrka supports young people’s creativity and give inspiration to both art students and secondary school students, regardless of which educational programs or career they choose to pursue. The outcome of the course, the aesthetical interchange and a mutual piece of work, is presented at Botkyrka konsthall at the end of the course.
YAPP in Botkyrka has been active since the beginning of 2011, when we also started the blog A Collective Sculpture, which follows the work of the participants and publishes documentation from workshops and seminars as well as newly produced texts and interviews.
During 2014 we’ll develop our current collaborations.
Ongoing collaborations:Tullinge gymnasium, Tumba gymnasium, Nyckelviksskolan och Brunnsvik konst.
